We are looking for volunteers to take part in two online study sessions.
We are investigating the role of mental imagery – or ‘pictures in your mind’ - in obsessive compulsive disorder. We hope that understanding more about how mental imagery may contribute towards distress in these problems will help future research enhance and improve treatments for people experiencing obsessive compulsive disorder.
Who can take part?
- We are interested in hearing from people aged 18 and over, from anywhere in the UK, who identify as having experienced problems with obsessions and compulsions.
- Participants need to be able to speak and read in the English language and have the ability to use a computer or touchscreen device with internet access to take part in the study.
What is involved?
- Completing a short series of questionnaires online/over the phone (30-40 mins), and
- Taking part in a video call with the researcher, during which you would be asked to complete a short task related to mental imagery (up to 30 mins).
If you are interested in taking part, please click next to read through our participant information sheet. You then be able to give your consent to take part and will be able to access the first part of the study on the pages that follow. You can ask any questions before taking part by contacting the researcher using the contact details on the next page.
In acknowledgement of your time and kind dedication to our study, we would like to donate £2 from our research funds on your behalf to your choice of either OCD UK or OCD Action.
